Leslie Sansone’s Walk it Off in 30 Days Workout Details and Review

Walk it Off in 30 Days from Anchor Bay Fitness, with a total running time of sixty-four minutes, consists of two thirty minute workout routines – a walking workout and a resistance workout – led by Leslie Sansone. In each of the workouts, Leslie is joined by several background exercisers. From the main menu, you have the option to select either the Burn 30 or the Firm 30 workout. You also have the option to listen to the workout with or without vocal instruction. Also available from the main menu is the Introduction to the 30 Day Plan which details which days to perform which thirty minute workout over the thirty day time period. In the plan, Burn 30 is done on alternate days with Firm 30 performed on the days in between and one day of rest per week.

  • Burn 30 is a non-stop cardiovascular walking workout. An optional set of wrist weights are used in the workout to increase the intensity. Leslie begins the workout with a brief warm-up, a rehearsal to set the stage for the workout ahead. In the warm-up Leslie introduces the four core moves used in the workout, walking, side steps, kicks and kick backs (or hamstring curls). These four moves are used throughout the workout but Leslie adds intensity to the moves to increase the calorie burn. The workout concludes with a cooldown walk and stretch.
  • Firm 30 is a thirty minute, total body resistance training workout. For the workout you will need a set of light to medium dumbbells. In this workout Leslie hits every major muscle group of the body. Using a set of dumbbells she begins by targeting the large muscle groups of the legs and backs. From there, she moves to the smaller muscle groups of the shoulders, biceps and triceps. She transitions the workout to the floor for chest work, abdominal training and core work. The workout concludes with a stretch.

Walk it Off in 30 Days is an “everything included” total body strength and cardio workout. The fitness plan included on the DVD takes the guess work out of which workout to do on which day. The time efficient workouts allow you to get your workout in and get on with your day. The workout can be adapted to all fitness level by raising the intensity in the walking workout or increasing the weights in the strength training workout. Leslie does an excellent job cuing the workout so you are always on the beat. She provides form pointers, modifications and motivation throughout the workout.

  2. I love using weights in a cardio workout, The wrist weights would be the way for me! Sounds like a great circuit!

  3. Walking is a great exercise for everyone. I love walking when I need to go shopping.

    • Hi Tara – walking is definitely great exercise. This DVD is great for when you can’t make it outside to walk. And the Firm 30 workout is a great addition to develop and strengthen muscles.
